January 2026
We are excited to share that work began in December 2025 on a new 10,000 sq.ft. extension to the Rutland Building at Riverside Works. This expansion will create additional space for our existing occupiers to grow and thrive, helping to strengthen the local business community.
The extension, being delivered by Litton Construction Ltd, is expected to be completed by June 2026.
Existing occupiers are already set to move in. Carrs Billington, the national agricultural wholesaler, will be relocating from the Kingfisher Building, taking 7,570 sq.ft. in the new space. Bakewell Bakery, a much-loved local business, will also be expanding, adding 3,140 sq.ft. to support their growing operations.
The space they leave behind has also been reserved by another local business, keeping activity moving and supporting employment within the park.
At present, limited space remains available at Riverside Works, including a unit in the Plante Building at the entrance to the site and units 1–2 in the Fearnehough Building opposite the future hotel.
Looking ahead, the Gel Building, our next phase of employment space, is being prepared for 2027, with one unit already reserved. These developments reflect our ongoing commitment to creating space where local businesses can grow, collaborate, and contribute to the wider Bakewell community.
